Re: Ferguson movie star tv 3756
As its not a text tv, which is obsolete anyway, why don't you just get a so called universal one, even tuning isn't sweep. I generally hate these things but they have bailed me out once or twice. Surprisingly I can't find anything on Ebay.

Re: Ferguson movie star tv 3756
That case styling of the TV suggests it is one of the earlier Thyristor PSU versions of the TX9 chassis, either a mk1 or 2. The original remotes were getting a bit thin on the ground even way back in the day, we mostly supplied new replacement ones manufactured by a third party.
Edit: just thought, is the remote on this early model ultrasonic ? |
Re: Ferguson movie star tv 3756
Just looking through my TX9 service manual, I think the remote is ultrasonic (U718 system). The TX9 section that covers this doesn't give a "T" number for the handset, which looks just like the one in the brochure page I posted earlier.

Re: Ferguson movie star tv 3756
Definitely ultrasonic.

Re: Ferguson movie star tv 3756
Ah well if it is ultrasonic then original only will be required.

Or, look into the frequencies used and see what's possible with some Veroboard, some components and a project box.:) |
Re: Ferguson movie star tv 3756
My 9600 is ultrasonic but I managed to get a pattern remote from konig or philex or similar. Might be worth keeping an eye on ebay as I sometimes see great job-lots of such remotes NOS where someone's cleared out a shop or attic or what have you.

Are you still looking for a remote control? I have a DER labelled T718 ultrasonic model. Any good to you? Best regards, Peter. |
Re: Ferguson movie star tv 3756
I offered you a T718 remote control back in July. Shall I assume you don't want it? Peter.
