Bell & Howell Model 202 Question ~~
 

Hi all, & hope everyone's well~~ I just picked up this 6AQ5, 5Y3, 12AX7, 5879 chassis up with the intention of loading it for guitar. Is that massive gray transformer with 10 leads that plugs into the chassis, part of this chassis workings, or was it part of the projector? Also, if not this site, where is a good place go for musician's advice? I tried posting a picture, but no luck.

Ten wires doesn't sound that many

Mains Line and Neutral 2
Chassis Frame earth 1
HT Secondary 3
Rectifier LT 2
Amplifier LT 2

Total of 10 so it's likely everything is used by the amplifier.

Since posting I have found this looks like info on the 202 starts at K3.

Insufficient time to check it out in the middle of something.

The 202 was the first USA B&H with both optical and magnetic sound. To minimise hum field the amplifier mains transformer was mounted at the top of the case. The UK built version was known as the 630 and also had this arrangement.

Many Bell and Howell projectors required 120V mains supply for amp, the motor and the lamp. For UK use, a very hefty ( 1000 or 1200 watt lamp ) , 240V to 120V transformer was supplied.
