Half inch spacing comb binders.

Hi folks

Trying to find comb binders where the distance between the combs is half an inch. Everything I've been able to find is 16mm (5/8 inch nominal) and is too much spacing.

This is to rebind the calibration booklet for a BC221 frequency meter. The original 1940's binding is breaking up.

Any sources you know about?

There are wire 'combs' which generally have a closer pitch than the plastic ones. But all the plastic ones I've seen are the same pitch.

It might be worth talking to some of those companies that print and bind documents. They might have or know of something suitable.

A while back I had to buy combs to rebind a few of my Telequipment manuals. I am certain I found a site selling imperial sizes. Of course now I can't find it.

It might be worth having a rummage around the internet to see if anything turns up.

Thanks guys. It seems that the search term is 2:1 binding - the 2:1 appears to mean 2 loops per 1 inch.

Nothing seems to come up in combs at that pitch. Wire binding does, and in principle needs a machine to close the loops. You tube is your friend - it seems that you can just close the loops one at a time by hand.

I'll see if I can get a small number and try them out.

Cheers

I have 3 hard back folders that have 22 circular metal "combs" that open and close like a normal ring binder, they are on a half inch spacing. They are actually loose leaf stamp albums but you are welcome to them for the cost of posting.

I'm actually fairly sure that the circular pins on the binders won't fit through the rectangular holes in the calibration book.

Wire binders I think are the only way to go. Now I just need to find a source of a few, rather than 200 - which is what everyone I've found sells.

Re: Half inch spacing comb binders.

The pins on the binders aren't circular, they are oval, in fact they are almost rectangular.
4mm wide (top to bottom) by 1.2mm thick, should be ideal. The offer still stands.

Any help?

I understand the 20 ring combs are half–inch spacing!
