Defiant MSH971

Here for your amusement is the Defiant that was my bedside music centre when I was a teenager in the 1970s. 3 valve plus rectifier. The main fault was an open circuit output transformer but that and the energised speaker connect to the chassis via an octal plug. I found a replacement transformer and with the help of the circuit of the Defiant MSH972 (which is the same thing with the addition of a magic eye) bought from the moderator's shop I managed to figure out the wiring of the speaker with its two coils and the PEN45DD double diode tetrode. Lots of capacitors have been replaced and although more a repair than a substantial rebuild it now works quite nicely.
