Grundig GDM 312 microphone.

Hi, I just find an old Grundig GDM 312 microphone.
It is a din connection ... I'd like to use it on an amp with XLR or JAck connection.

There are 4 cable in the DIN : 3 pin and one solded to the DIN case.

The 3 pin are numbered 1 2 3 ... can someone explain me the wiring diagram to connect the cable to an XLR or a JACK. I can't open the microphone and doesn t know wich cable is what ...

These mics incorporate a transformer. It's probably wired similarly to the drawing in post #9 in this thread:-

Thx..
So is it possible to connect it with an XLR and use it with a modern mix table? Sorry I m a newbie, I don't even understand what is dual impedance...

This is a dual impedance dynamic rather than a condensor mic. I'd try connecting the wire from pin 2 to the sleeve of the jack and that from pin 1 to the tip. Alternatively, the pin 2 wire to pin 1 of the XLR and the pin 1 wire to pin 2 of the XLR. Then link pins 1 and 3 on the XLR, as the mic is unbalanced.

In either case, join the pin 2 wire to the screen of the cable.

Re: Grundig GDM 312 microphone.

Thank you... I'll try this this evening... So the wire of the pin 3 (DIN) stay free (not connected to XLR)?

Re: Grundig GDM 312 microphone.

So
Din 1 ==> 2 xlr
Din 2 ==> 1 xlr
Din 3 ==> free unused
Cable screen ==> 1 XLr
XLR 3 ==> XLR 1

So 3 cable on XLR 1, nothing on XLR 3, and din 3 free

Exact?

Yes, that's right. The feed to 3 Din is an alternative output at a different impedance.
