Looks like you have replaced the 3 in one capacitor with 2 new (black) caps. The only other cap that would need replacing is that for the tone control. Have you powered this up yet?

Which one is supposed to be the cathode bypass capacitor?

Lawrence.

If the red tag is supposed to be wired up as the HT reservoir capacitor and the yellow tag wired up as the HT filter capacitor then it looks as though all the electrolytics are connected up wrong.

The 22uF at 25V the small one on top would be the filter capacitor is connected to the bottom

The top pin on the 32 32 is neutral so I've just connected the neutral end of the 22 to there. Then back to the board.

top and middle both connected to 32 and the bottom connected to the 22 25v ( small on top. all neutrals connected together at some point.

is that correct?

thanks mick

So far as I can make out all the electrolytics are connected wrong.

Referring to the 1st photo in post#24 and looking at the photo in post#66 where the wires enter the board, the four holes that the wires from the electrolytics go into....

The top right blue wire is in the correct hole BUT on the print side of the board it should also be connected to pin 4 of the valve socket by using a bridging wire.

The brown wire from the +ve of the cathode bypass capacitor (the small single can) should go into the bottom right hand hole.

The blue wire from the red tag (HT reservoir) of the large electrolytic should go into the top left hole.

The blue wire from the yellow tag (HT filter) of the large electrolytic should go into the bottom left hole

Lawrence.

No problem, just to be clear again, refer to the 1st pic in post#24....

The top blue circle point is the connection to the large can electrolytic capacitors -ve tag and the small can electrolytic capacitors -ve lead, also from that blue circle point you should connect an insulated jumper wire from it to the blue circle point on the right which leads to pin 4 of the valve socket.

The top yellow circle point should be connected to the red tag on the large electrolytic can.

The bottom yellow circle point should be connected to the yellow tag on the large electrolytic can.

The yellow circle point on the left should be connected to the +ve lead of the cathode bypass capacitor (the small single can electrolytic)

Lawrence.
