Default Calipers at Aldi

Digital Veneer calipers 150mm, auto switch off after 5 minutes. In Aldi Hessle today at £7.99 once you have a set you will wonder how you managed without them. Among other uses I use them instead of a wire gauge. No connection etc, I was just browsing and already have a set.

Bought one - seems good value, and, praise be, uses a standard cell!

Another "had one for ages"- I've had a set since the first lot out some years ago. No Auto shut off, AFAIK, and another niggle is fact that once battery is lower than certain value, it has problems shutting down, but it runs for yonks on £ shop batteries- I've still got the card I bought at £ land same day . But apart from that- I'm almost tempted to get another set of the new issue. Very useful for component measurement, and the auto zero function is useful on the car ( what no swear filter )

I've had a set for a year or so and fine for a ball park figure, but they are far from accurate.

Not that you could expect them to be, really, but 'measure thrice, cut once' is definitely recommended. Wish I'd paid more for a real instrument, but usable if you remember to close and reset all the time.

I bought an expensive well made set, £2 at car boot. Just needed a battery, had it for years and wonder how I managed without one.
