Sticky dials on old Bt phones
I have cleaned out the dial and it still takes about 1.5 seconds to return from '0' position ;slow compared to a good 'un.It is also a bit stiff to wind round in the first place.Should I investigate further and what lubricant is agood idea?

Re: Sticky dials on old Bt phones
Slightly dangerous and maybe I will be jumped on for suggesting this....but I followed some previous information I had read and decided to risk it.
I boiled the mechanism, without the number labelling etc, for a bout 10 minutes ....the water was full of debris afterwards. On removing the dial I chased out the remaining moisture with a hair-dryer, lightly lubricated the govenor-cup assembly etc and the dial works fine, installed and tested ok. |

I was in 'Aldi' the other day and noticed they were selling cheap (<£20) ultrasonic cleaning tanks. Perhaps one of these would be as good an option?

Use the dishwasher when SWMBO is not looking.

Treat ultrasonic cleaners with care! Especially with aluminium alloy parts.
I use one for clock cleaning sometimes. 15 minutes makes a sheet of cooking foil like a lace curtain.
