Hello,

I had a working TV however when slightly opening up the chassis while switched on, the fuse blew up. I tried replacing the fuse but it blows up again.

It's an old Philips TV 20B 414 01. It has an old switched power supply with a BU326. I'm not sure what's causing the fuse to be upset.

Would someone have a schematic for this set or have some similar schematic at least for the switched power supply.

Is there also a trick i can use to limit the current of the set to avoid blowing too many fuses and is there a troubleshooting process to understand where the fault is?

Worth checking the bridge rectifier/diodes? Did anything earthed touch the chassis when you were hinging it down?

You could try looking for a schematic on French forums and sites, it's a French model.

Were you opening it because of a problem ?

According to my data it uses the E1 O chassis, so that might help in your search for a similar diagram.

Are you sure your data isn't about the 20B441 instead of 20B414?

In any case, this chassis looks nothing like the E1 which was basically a German/global design, not French.

According to a French forum post, the 20B414 might have the H chassis. Looking for that turns up http://dede92dubois.free.fr/telenetb.htm where you can obtain the schematic if you mail the site owner.

Oops, yes that is exactly my mistake Maarten

, indeed it is the 20B441 that is the E1-O chassis, dated from1973, which I cannot say I am familiar with the 'O' version of. That is what partly led to my mistake, well that and going number blind lol
