Default Anyone ordered from SSTRAN lately?

I ordered the AMT3000 from them one and half weeks ago. The money was taken immediately but I've heard nothing since and no reply to my emails. I understand they're a small business, and maybe the chap is busy right now, but nothing to warn of this on the site.

Has anyone ordered anything from them lately? If I don't hear something in another week or so I might have to get my money back from via Paypal.

Mine took a couple of weeks to arrive, if they are on holiday I don't blame them to not have an automatic response to emails, this only proves to scammers/junkers that it is real.

I bought one recently and the delay in receiving it lead me to contact them by email. I can't remember the reason they gave me for the delay, but a couple of days later they sent me a tracking number. The package duly arrived and I was lucky enough to escape import duty, VAT and Royal Mail collection fees.

Thanks for the advice guys. Ill have to give it a while longer and see what happens. It seems to be the best in its category, so not as if I can buy anything else instead!

Well, nearly 1 month now, no reply to my emails, no status change on the order, and no parcels yet

I will hold out a little longer, but will soon have to consider getting my money back via Paypal.

I'll update this thread with how I get on

Have you tried going to their website and checking the progress of your order?

Hi Graham, thanks but yes I did that and it simply states "pending" as it has done from the start.

Oddly it states I have 2 orders, but the first was never completed as I had only added it to basket but wasn't able to finish that order. The next day I completed an order as normal and the money was taken immediately.

I really don't mind waiting, I'm just worried that the lack of updates might suggest they are not in business any more. In my opinion, If they have a backlog or are away on holiday, they could have very easily set an "out of office" on their email address or added a small note to their website as a courtesy to their customers

All I can say is that my order remained in the pending state for some time. I emailed SSTRAN about this on 22 April this year and they replied the next day saying that my unit would be in the next batch to be shipped, which indeed it was.

I have ordered about a dozen of these excellent units over the past few years.

Usually the service has been good, but there were three instances of difficulty when I had to chase things up.

The first was when PayPal apparently failed to alert them to the sale, the second was because they were awaiting some components on back-order, and the third was when they had got behind 'due to a number of circumstances'.

It always came right in the end.

Just about hit 1 month, no progress whatsoever and no reply to emails or any notice on their site. Order still says pending as it did the day I ordered it.

I've sent one last mail and informed them I intend to raise a paypal claim in a few weeks to ensure I get my money back as Paypal disputes must be raised within 45 days of payment.

I seem to have caught them in a bad patch but their lack of communication, especially after having taken the money is wholly unacceptable in my view.

I hope to report back in a few weeks that this has all been cleared up, but I fear that won't be the case and I'll have to settle for a Spitfire

@Electronicskip, yes that's the firm.

It seems my last email did the trick, Phil Bolyn replied to me just now to assure me mine will be shipped on Monday.

'Ill update this thread to confirm I got it all OK. I suspect this will be a case where patience is rewarded with an excellent product.

If it's as good as I hope it is, I'll happily disregard the poor communications on the purchase and recommend them

I received an email today with tracking information, so looks like it's just been dispatched. Not quite Monday two weeks ago, but I'm not too fussed so long as I get it.

Will report back when all received ok. I think SSTRAN may even be a 1 man operation, and I suppose word has travelled about this and he's overwhelmed with new orders.

Received the kit today following a short delay at customs.

All looks very high quality and neatly bagged and labelled

Can't wait to get building this and playing with it!

So all in all, they're very busy, but patience pays off, have faith and it shall arrive

Did you have to pay any import duty?

I escaped import duty when I received mine about 5 years ago, cracking little Tx, audio quality is spot on.

I also got mine over 5 years ago and built it at work when we had a quiet patch. It has been going 24/7 ever since - a great piece kit.
