Default A BVWS badge

How about badge so we can identify each other at places we like to go to. I know this isn't the BVWS (British Vintage Radio Society) so how about a UKVRAR badge, I would pay a few pounds for one.

Good idea. So would I. When I joined BVWS I got a tax disc sized car sticker but that's fading now. An enamel pin badge is a good idea I think!

Back in the late 80's and 90's there were BVWS Pin badges and despite being very cheap they were not that popular.

I still have a couple here somewhere.

The car stickers came with your membership renewal I did sport one for a few years but I have had at least 5 cars since then

Not everyone it has to be said wants people to know who they are.

The whole title is a bit of a mouthful so how about a shortened and stylised form.

Cheers

I did have the car sticker when it was issued, but have since changed my car.

The stickers were on sale on the BVWS stand at the recent Golborne event, and I guess at other events too. At events that I attend I wear a name badge that I've made, (usual lapel badge size), as do others on occasions, but I don't think it cuts much ice. Below is a low resolution copy - nothing fancy, just who I'm known as on the forum, with the BVWS and G-QRP Club logos added. Either people know me and stop to talk (or perhaps if they see me first, dodge out of the way!), others just walk on by - everyone seems rather wrapped up with their browsing, intent on finding an unobtanium valve, knob, dial or radio back at the top of their wanted list!

Although events such as the NVCF are open to the public, it's inevitable that most who visit will be BVWS members, a good proportion of whom will also be members of this forum.

Lapel badges for any organisation seem to be a bit passé these days. I recall a car advert in which they said 'If you want a car, buy a Hyundai - if you want a badge, join the Boy Scouts'.

Any one got one that I can have? I sport my RSGB (long lapsed membership) call sign badge, that has sporned many interesting conversations.

Neither do I (I don't use youbookfacetube or the like) it's just a pointer to what we like.

Not very good on a motorcycle, all you see is the back! Recently I got a temporary parking permit (they are free, why bother?) sent to me in A4 PDF format to display 'in my vehicle' again a bit tricky on a bike and they assumed I had a printer too.

A stylish (1930's type or 1970's) BVWS logo would be most acceptable.

So am I. Still nice to wear them.

This is the badge available way back when(?). It's about 15mm dia. I can't remember if it came with the membership or you had to buy it. Either way, I don't think I've ever worn it.

Looking for something else entirely, came across one of the old car stickers.

They are 4" in diameter

Cheers

I'd be up for pin badges, both UKVRAR and BVWS. There are still a number of companies making these.
