Re: Radio PYE without model
Hello and welcome to the forums.
Please post a picture showing the lower half of the tuning scale. This should show the intended market and indicate whether this is an export model. What valves are fitted?

Re: Radio PYE without model
This is just guess work, the label on the chassis rear apron seems to read...clairton...
The antenna and earth socket on the left seems to be marked A and T?...Antenna and Terra? (aerial and earth) The vertical white bits of trim look as though they have some embellishments on them. I've not seen that style of IF transformer in a Pye before. North Africa/Middle East/French market? Lawrence. |

Re: Radio PYE without model
Very similar to the P75 model, but there may be a model number on the back panel or even on a label inside the wooden case. I would, when you do get the circuit diagram is to concentrate on those capacitors, most if not all will want renewing. Valve number one looks as if it has the vacuum broken as it is white at the top.
Good luck with it though, and welcome to the forum. Best wishes Ken |

Full pics of the chassis, including a front view?
And close up pic of the "CLAIRTON" label? Lawrence. |

Re: Radio PYE without model
I'm curious to know what kind of model it is, and after that, I already have to repair it. A transformer is located on it. Lawrence spoke correctly, this is an export model, is there a catalog of export models?

Re: Radio PYE without model
Why do you think this is a Pye radio?
What valves/tubes are fitted?

Re: Radio PYE without model
Remove the radio from the cabinet and take photo's of the radio (not the cabinet) we need full views showing all of the front, top, rear and underneath, also a close up photo of the "CLAIRTON" label on the rear of the radio that's shown here on the bottom right hand side of the rear of the chassis:

Re: Radio PYE without model
I've done a lot of searching on the internet for clues, not a lot that's conclusive to be honest, the only thing that looks Pye about that receiver is the tuning scale and possibly the cabinet.
The Belton capacitor hasn't turned up much either except for an old print on Google images referring to a company called Belton AG of Zurich that had something to do with radios: http://www.walter-antiquariat.de/Bel...tising-Kolumbu And a photo on vintage French radio site showing an identical capacitor (condensateur) to the one in the OP's receiver: http://tsf.resto.free.fr/astuces/CON...densateurs.htm Lawrence. |

Re: Radio PYE without model
Ages ago when the thread first started me and my wife were trying to figure out the word shown under CLAIRTON in the original photo, we both went for Paris
Seem to remember at that time I did a Google search for Clairton of Paris but couldn't find anything. Anyways, back to the plot. Lawrence. |
