One of the reasons I enjoy vintage amplifiers apart from the history aspect is good old tone controls and filters. Even in my smallish room I usually notice the benefit of a bit of bass lift and that's with leak sandwiches with their 13" woofers. Even on cd/digital there is a massive difference between recordings.
