Default Watch out for the polarity markings!

I have just received my latest Bluetooth, FM receiver, etc signal source that I use for my Pantry transmitters.

Its almost identical to the others just different text on the front.

Helpfully the power connections are marked + and -ve

Good job I checked they are the wrong way around

The PCB is correctly marked.

Haha in testing I must have paid too little for this one and it doesn't have bluetooth

No matter I can use the other functionality.

I don't mind too much these are less than £2.50 including Postage.

But I thought I would mention it here fore warned is fore armed!

Cheers

I had something similar with some cheap USB serial adapters. The first two blew up. Opened them up and someone had soldered the power rails on the wrong way. So much for quality control! Good job they were only 80p each!

Mine is the same, £2.50 and the wires marked incorrectly. I didn't notice the wire marking until now, merrily using the PCB markings hoping GND was the large PCB area and negative. It was.

I don't know what to do with mine yet, maybe install into my SSTRAN 3000 "modulator", this is normally fed from a car DAB adaptor, I could remove the interconnecting wires and use the FM from said adaptor.

An aside, such 'digital' markings of wires are used so colour blind people can make stuff.

I put one of these in a box and use it for playing mp3 files through the hifi system. I don't remember if the power leads were coded correctly, as mine came with no documentation whatsoever and I had to decode all the connections from the PCB.

Although I don't use it, the FM radio works surprisingly well for such a cheapie once you've worked out where the aerial connection is on the PCB.

I was lucky I suppose, mine came with two leads one for power and the other a four way, L+R+ground and a separate red wire for the FM aerial.

What is the font these type of things use? Looks 1920's to me.
