KB KR026 "Conquest" transistor radio
Hi
I thought I would show you a radio which I have recently acquired. It is a KB Conquest, manufactured in Southern Rhodesia. It is similar in appearance to the KB KR016 International, but the Conquest has LW in addition to MW SW and VHF, rather than the 2 shortwave bands on the International. It is not a small portable, it has a steel chassis and the rather flimsy (in comparison to the International) handle bends a little under the weight of the radio. I believe that both the International and Conquest were both made by Supersonic for KB, in their factory in S Rhodesia. Supersonic also marketed a "Conquest" radio with what looks like an identical chassis but their version had 2 SW bands and no LW band. This Conquest radio was one of the few remaining radios I need to complete the KB "transistor" radio collection in the Museum. I believe there are possibly only 2 Transistor models I now need for the museum. http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/kolster...e_kr029kr.html http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/kolsterbr_tp11tp_1.html But quite a few of the 20's 30's & 40's valve radios.
