Pye Achoic.
Hi, hope somebody can help, I've just picked up a Pye Achoic record player,
The unit is in great condition cosmetically but there are a few issues I need help with. The turntable and Auto mechanisms all work as they should, when turned on the machine gives out a low hum but no sound from any record. Before I go into action with my Screwdrivers, can anybody give me any indication as to what might be an obvious fix? I'm more of a wood restoration type bloke so this is a bit off base for me. Many thanks, Andy. |

Re: Pye Achoic.
Possibly a faulty pickup cartridge?

Re: Pye Achoic.
This particular Pye is more complex to fix than the "average" 1960's record player.
Touch the 4 connectors on the back of the cartridge to see if you can get a buzz from the amplifier.
