Name of this type of connector - Anyone ?
Hi - can anyone tell me what this type of connector is called ? and / or where I might be able to source a replacement ?
It's on the end of a Tech TE-65 voltmeter probe lead - the fixed TE-65 voltmeter part seems to be intact, but the innermost threads of the screw fitting on the probe connector, that screws to it, are stripped and no longer hold the probe connection, so I need to replace one or both parts. The inner diameter where the threads are is ca. 15mm, with a single central (spring loaded) probe contact, and the body connected to a separate ground lead. Thanks, Alan |

US Mic connector, aka Amphenol 75. Ideally replace with BNC.

I think it is this 'single circuit connector' (scroll down) made by Amphenol. Used a lot on USA sourced Heathkits. https://www.surplussales.com/Connect...rophone-5.html Ron |

Re: Name of this type of connector - Anyone ?
Thanks guys - that indeed seems to be exactly the one - Amphenol P/N 75-MC1F, the dimensions match as well.
I'm completely unimpressed with the design, with just a couple of threads doing anything, and a simple push 'connection' between 2 solder 'blobs'..... so the BNC alternative sounds like a far better option overall. I don't suppose either of you knows the corresponding BNC part numbers, to avoid altering the front panel of the TE-65 ? Thanks again. Alan |

the standard round panel mount socket uses a 9.5mm hole which is too small for the
panel (unless you use washers) but this type will fit the larger hole; http://uk.farnell.com/pomona/3778/rf...rfnonsku=false |

Re: Name of this type of connector - Anyone ?
Just to round this one off:
I managed to use a 'standard' ca. 9.5mm BNC connector in the end - the existing hole was only ca. 9.3mm, so some gentle persuasion was all it needed. 1X new internal 'D' battery & holder also fitted. It still had the original Japanese UM-1(A) battery inside, albeit somewhat rusty & swollen, but fortunately not leaking (still showing an impressive 1.4V). The battery swelling had actually broken the battery holder, so the +ve terminal was no longer connected. Everything's now seems to be working properly again. Thanks again |
