Atwater Kent 55C
The Atwater Kent 1930 model I am repairing requires both Interstage and Output transformers. They are both in a tar filled can. Can anyone suggest a source for these items. New manufacture or old stock. Would any generic types be satisfactory? Had this really nice looking 4 legged radio for far too long hiding in the garage. It is time it started singing again.
Hope you can help. Frank. Doncaster. UK |

Hi Frank, if that search fails they can be rewound, but its best if you remove then from the can first by gently heating in a low oven until the pitch softens and they can be pulled out. SWMBO has banned me from doing it in case I contaminate her oven.

Thanks Ed.
Fully understand the oven thing. Stinky Yorkshire would spoil your Sunday. Thanks again for the input.Looks as though this may be the outcome. Frank |
