Unknown Radio (Yendi)
Has anybody come across one of these radios before, and can you confirm the maker and model number.
On the back it says, 1978 UK Design Reg. No. 983206 thanks Mike |

It looks like an ITT radio to me.

Re: Unknown Radio (Yendi)
As Sam says, it doesn't appear to be made for the UK market. Apart from that it looks like a typical late 70s Hong Kong cheapie.
Yendi is a place in Ghana, though that's probably just a coincidence. |

Re: Unknown Radio (Yendi)
Is that Schick the razor makers?
So German not Dutch, odd to have a UK design number. |

Re: Unknown Radio (Yendi)
I thought the tuning scale looked a bit Germanic.
Maybe it's a Hong Kong design registered in London. |

Re: Unknown Radio (Yendi)
The link to the Ultrasound radio is interesting, so it looks like it is possibly not British after all, and as you say the dial is not exactly marked with British stations.

Re: Unknown Radio (Yendi)
It does look like an up market far east set, well worth preserving for at least history and a working radio.

Re: Unknown Radio (Yendi)
Its not my radio, it was a proposal for a new model in the Radio Museum.
Although it has mention of UK reg. design number, it appears to be made for the German market, but not being certain we have listed it as an EU unknown make. http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/unknown...no_983206.html Thanks for your help. Mike |
