Vintage Bush TP50 Reel to Reel
I just bought a vintage Bush TP50 Reel to Reel recorder as a surprise for my husband - but it did not come with an instruction manual. Does anyone know where I can get one? I would appreciate any and all information! Thanks.

Re: Vintage Bush TP50 Reel to Reel
This is it: http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/bush_tp50.html
It uses the very common BSR TD2 deck, which was a reliable design. However, if this recorder is unrestored then it is likely to need electrical and mechanical work before it can be used safely and reliably. |

Re: Vintage Bush TP50 Reel to Reel
The earliest production used TCC wax dipped paper capacitors. Later production used Hunts Moldseals. Either way, they will need replacing. These are nice machines, with decent electronics.

Re: Vintage Bush TP50 Reel to Reel
Thank you all for the information. But I have no idea who I could take this to for restoration. Any ideas in Lancashire?

I have a copy of the instruction manual for this model.
Let me know if you still need it, and I will scan it for you. Roy |

Re: Vintage Bush TP50 Reel to Reel
Thank you, Roy, I would love a scan. What do I have to do? I bought a download of the manufacturer's service data, but it wasn't what I had in mind! I just want to know how to use the machine. Please let me know.

Re: Vintage Bush TP50 Reel to Reel
I will scan the instruction booklet for you today and post it here as a PDF. It is a 12-page booklet with full guidance on how to use the machine.
