Bush SRP.31D tone arm weight
Can anyone tell me if there is a spring missing from the tonearm on this Bush Monarch record player. I have spent all evening studying it but can't see how to reduce the weight on the stylus.
I've attached a photo of the anchor end of the arm so that you can better determine if anything is missing. |

With the arm up you will see the spring is anchored at the bottom, to the hinge. The top of the spring is stretched and slots into the arm. Pull this end out and move the spring up further to reduce the weight.

Looks like the play-weight spring is missing, as there's an empty "eye" near the main fixing screw and where the arm narrows up, the spring-steel "strip" is where the coils of the spring are locked once playing weight is achieved..
