Default Re: UV Photo-Resist Dry Film PCB Process

Back in the day, Mike Albinson at Quad made prototype circuit boards by draughting the board at x4 real size. He would blu-tak this to the end of a dexion shelf which faced the downtairs bathroom. In the bathroom door he had drilled a hole and fixed a camera lens. He'd go into the bathroom, close the door, and stick his piece of board to the wall facing the lens. He's sit there for a guesstimated time and then develop the board and etch it.

The Quad FM3, 33 and 303 started life that way.

I was fortunate to visit Quad while Albinson was still alive, and have this process explained from the horse's mouth. He professed no interest at all in audio - he far preferred to tinker with cars and bikes!
