Mullard Components Reference Guide Books

Does anyone remember these small A6(ish) size and quite thick little data books? Briefly detailed all of the Mullard range components.

My dad bought me one in 1973 (it was the green covered one). I think they were published every year by Mullard and were cheap as chips.

If anyone has one from the early 70s I would love to get hold of it for my website.

Kind regards

Robert

Hi Robert

There have been several threads about these books which frequently turn up on Ebay.
There was a very nice thread here concerning the artwork.
I bought my first copy in 1971/2 which I think has the dark red cover.

Enjoy:thumbsup:

I have a few, as shown. I also have a lot of the full Mullard/Philips data books. At one time I was on their mailing list and used to get boxes of them. I still have a fair number

That takes me back. I definitely had the '68 and the 73/4. Wish I still had them!

Hi Jeffrey

The Green one is the one I had 73/74 as a young lad! 30p it cost me!

I'll pm you on this.

I also have the 68 and 73/74 editions plus the 1970 edition.

Also a 1965 valve equivalents guide.

Great Keith

I wonder when they stopped them?

I have a 1978 Quick Reference Guide, listing all the Mullard products. This is A5 size. I bet this replaced the smaller guides, thus giving a changeover date between 1974 and 1978.

I also have a 1988 guide, the last before Philips dropped the Mullard name. I believe the guides were discontinued a couple of years after :(

I have a few of these excellant Mullard booklets mostly from the 1970's. I will dig them out and come back on this.

The latest one I have is 79-80, still Mullard, but the semiconductor section is much larger than the valve & tube sections.

I have 1969, 1970 and 1976 (acquired at the time) and 1962/63, 1965-66 (bought second-hand more recently). I'm sure I have another one somewhere, because I recall one had an extended valve equivalents list but it does not seem to be in any of those in front of me.

Hi Robert,

I have a 1954 one which I no longer use, and which you are welcome to, if it's not too early a date for your collection.

(I now use many of the "Mullard Maintenance Manuals" - the very thick A5ish size with the spiral binding, plus a host of other valve and tube manuals by various manufacturers).

Picture attached.

If you are interested, PM me with your address & I'll pop it in the post.

Cheers,

Dave.
